Preparation for First Holy Communion
Preparation for the Sacrament of Holy Communion is a 2 year programme that starts in Year 3 (8 to 9 years old), and culminates in the reception of Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist at the end of Year 4 (9 to 10 years old). Please refer to our "Age Requirement" page for details on class placement.
Year 3 is considered to be the first year in preparation for Holy Communion. In Year 3, your child will be prepared to receive the Sacrament of Penance or Reconciliation.

Requirements
- Holy Communion preparation starts in Year 3.
- A clear copy of your child's Baptism Certificate, is required at the time of registration.
- If you are transferring from another Parish, or are new in the country and are looking to enrol your child in our programme in order to receive Holy Communion, please provide us with a letter or email from your former Parish or Catholic School confirming that your child has been attending faith formation classes in preparation to receive Holy Communion or was on track to receive the Sacrament within their Catholic school programme. Holy Communion for Older Children
Our Special Sacrament programme is also a 2 year preparation programme. For children above 9 years, who have not received Holy Communion, can also enrol in our programme and will be placed on track to receive Holy Communion through our Special Sacrament Programme. However, this is at the discretion of the Catechism Coordinator, after a clear understanding of the faith formation of the child.
